- 95% of roles operate under a hybrid model, allowing associates to work from anywhere in Costa Rica with internet access.
- Around 20% of the GCC Costa Rica’s total workforce is located outside the Greater Metropolitan Area, creating meaningful opportunities for talent in other regions of the country.
- TransUnion, a leading global information and insights company, has hired over 240 professionals in Costa Rica this year, accelerating the growth of its Global Capability Center (GCC). Building on this momentum, the company is opening 30 new positions. Located in Heredia, the GCC supports TransUnion’s international operations and creating premium customer experiences across multiple markets. Costa Rica has become a strategic hub for TransUnion, driven by the talent, academic excellence and multilingual expertise of its associates.
The available positions range from junior to senior levels, offering opportunities for those beginning their careers as well as professionals aspiring to leadership roles.
With this expansion, TransUnion strengthens its commitment to Costa Rican talent by offering diverse roles in an innovative environment. Costa Rica has positioned itself as a strategic talent hub thanks to the preparation, skills and language proficiency of its professionals, who contribute to the company’s global projects. According to CINDE (2023), 402 multinational companies currently employ more than 184,000 Costa Ricans, highlighting the country’s depth of talent and its strategic importance for global operations.
“Our GCC in Costa Rica provides employees with the opportunity to integrate globally and participate in diverse projects that expand their experience and professional growth. At the same time, we place strong emphasis on work-life balance, flexibility, engagement and belonging, career development, and the chance to do truly impactful work,” said Bryan Castillo, Director of the GCC in Costa Rica.
At TransUnion’s GCC Costa Rica, approximately 95% of roles operate under a hybrid model, enabling professionals to support — and even lead — global teams from anywhere in the country. CINDE also reports that over 5,300 jobs have been created outside the Greater Metropolitan Area, with a similar number of remote positions estimated nationwide, reflecting the growing reach of flexible work and the adaptability of Costa Rican professionals.
This flexibility is part of a strategic approach to nurture local talent, offer international experiences within a Costa Rican context, and create inclusive, diverse workplaces oriented toward professional development.
The people hired in the GCC are stepping into key roles that are helping shape TransUnion’s global operating model, in addition to a variety of other roles that stretches across most functional areas. Their work benefits millions of customers worldwide in several meaningful ways. One standout example of this is the development of a chat and messaging platform that supports millions of customers in the U.S., Canada, South Africa, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic.
